Both Bloody-Disgusting.com and Fangoria are reporting that New Line is seeking to fast-track the next Friday the 13th movie (which would be Part 12) for THIS COMING Friday, October 13th, 2006! (And it won't be featuring Kung-Fu Busta Rhymes...)

Whether this will happen or not depends on things working out. IF it does, I am declaring as of this moment that we WILL be getting people together to see this movie, ON Friday the 13th in October. Heather, myself, and Nix will be organizing.

Don't forget to stop by your local comic book shop to pick up the Jason vs. Jason X books, due for release in February 2006!

Have I mentioned how awesome Jason Voorhees is, yet? :) He is THE reigning slasher champion, with a body count that his "peers" can't even begin to hope to match. Just a heads up, for those who either don't know or deny it...hehe.

(There was another blog post before this one today. See below.)

I meant to 'blog' about this earlier...

Some girl in St. Charles got fired from her job at the pharmacy in Target for refusing to sell the morning-after pill, or referring customers to another pharmacist. She did this because she claims it goes against her religious beliefs concerning abortion and pro-life. Now, she's bitching and whining because she got fired.

Now, this girl probably got health insurance through that job; likely she depended upon her paycheck in some capacity. While I am sympathetic to someone being out of work and down on their luck...

...she deserved to lose her job. I'm glad she did. Number one, she's forcing her beliefs on the lives of other people, which she has absolutely no right to do. Number two, she was hired to give people their doctor-prescribed medication, and just simply out-right refused to do her job. Her very job description involves filling prescriptions of every kind of medicine, including the morning-after pill. So how come she accepted the fucking job in the first place? She could have chosen to get a different job if she didn't like the duties involved in that one. Simply put, lady, if you don't do the work which you were hired to do, you get your ass fired, regardless of any kind of belief system.

So go ahead and cry your eyes out over not having a job anymore, fucktard...afterwards, maybe you should take your last paycheck and go buy yourself a friggin' brain!

LOL!

(In case any of your are wondering, here is how to get to Wagners tonight, Friday, January 27th, 2006, for Corey's birthday "party" and karaoke night. Please note, I'm pasting the directions as Corey gave them to me, so the misspellings are not me...hehe.

Take 55 north, and get off at Carondelet, go right. Take that till it dead ends into Alabama, go left at that light. Go to the next light and go straight, till you get to some stop signs, go straight though those. You will see a railroad over pass in front of you. Go under that and when you come out from under that you will look to your right and see a street called Primm veer to your right down that street. Go straight down till you get to a stop sign and Wagners is right there at that corner. If you have any trouble call me at the bar (314)544-0773

"Is Sudoku the stupidest game to ever appear in newspapers, or what? Before you answer that, remember that the Sudoku frenzy is not only postliterate but post-arithmetic (no adding, subtracting, or other computational skills needed). If you can count from 1 to 9, you can play Sudoku. Maybe I'm wrong, but this adds up to a big duh in my book." - Stephen King

This actually made me laugh. Sorry, Beaver - I had to post it. :)

Resolve is a very heavy word...

Resolutions 2006:

1) Be more healthy (diet, exercise, etc.)
2) Work towards getting that house
3) Do a wider variety of things

...and I will succeed! :)

I got a call from DeLarbar, of all people, asking about the Ultimate Guys Night 2006...I had actually completely forgot about that in all the hectic shit over the holiday season and it's aftermath/recovery period.

His questions was, "When?" The answer to his question is, "I don't really know." This is a Spawn and Quill planned and sponsored event - and I wouldn't dream of holding it without Spawn being able to participate (he misses too much as is). As soon as we get our house, his condo won't necessarily have to be the only place to have it, either...but that's only a small reason why things depend on him being in town right now.

Anyway, I'm back to giving a little attention to that, now...the party will be on a Saturday night. That we DO know. It will also have massive amounts of beer and food (burgers, hotdogs, brats, etc.). The cost per person is still being ironed out. I'll know more on that very soon. (Cost per person also depends on who shows up and actually comes, as well, mind you.)

Work's going great, still love it. Heather's doing good in her classes so far, so that's wonderful. We're still both adjusting to the changes involved schedule-wise, but it's all good.

I loathe winter for one reason - it's gloomy. It effects my mood in a bad way. It can sometimes effect my motivation to do things, too. Fuck you, winter gloom!

I think I'll light my eucalyptus candle and chill out to some music now. Latah!

A Truly Great (And Accurate) Quote...

Happy Birthday to a very special lady that has been a third grandmother to me: Audrey Smith.

I have finally finished. I have reached the end of the journey that is The Dark Tower. I have to tell you - the ending is not the catharsis most - or even all - would expect or hope for. BUT...it IS a kickass ending, filled with more meaning and significance than I could possibly put in my blog (and that's saying something considering the how long-winded I can be on this thing).

Does Roland reach the Dark Tower? What happens? I'm not going to tell you...it's a much more satisfying experience to read it for yourself.

Speaking of things Dark Tower, I paid for and downloaded the musical score for The Gunslinger by J.R. Flynn. The website describes it thus: "Dark, rustic and dreamy, this new music is a melding of Bernard Herrmann's Twilight Zone scores and Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Westerns, with a twist of Aaron Copland for flavor. In short, it's a dark western, rustic and lyrical." They're not far off, except the style mimics a not-as-polished Danny Elfman twinge to it. In any case, it completely fits the first Dark Tower book perfectly, especially Roland's fanfare.

Well, despite being tired this morning (I didn't sleep well last night for some reason), all else is right with the world.

The Friday the 13th thing went over quite well. I hope everyone had a good time, and got enough to eat. Those who missed out, don't worry, there will be more of these forthcoming.

I love you, Heather. :) Just felt like saying that.

...Therakos is coming!...

The official drinking game list for Friday Fright Fest has been drawn.

It's been a real trial by fire at work lately...I jump from task to task, each one more daunting and confusing than the rest. What's cool about all that is the fact that despite not really knowing exactly how to attack these jobs, I'm getting the job done on time, and more importantly, up to expectations. I wouldn't exactly call it 100% "success" and "advancement"; but it's nearly the same thing. It also speaks of my abilities, which eases my apprehensions overall anyway.

Enough about all that.

We ushered in the New Year with a very high sense of drama. Everyone played their parts, be it for good or ill. Things are still in the recuperative stage. I wanna start this thing right by apologizing for my own over-reactions to certain things said and done. There were better, more diplomatic ways of conducting my behavior.

I'm gonna take the opportunity to play the "you're an asshole" card - in reference to our wonderful forum board - in a "much nicer way". Bottom line is this: treating someone like shit - out of the blue, without prior attempts to resolve things in a more adult manner - is never justified. I don't care who got drunk and did/said whatever. It's never justified. Ever.

To those who have already settled the matter, none of this applies to you. But to those who still have to deliver apologies owed - and, deny it or not, you know who you are - you need to get on the ball, or resign yourself to being viewed in certain lights for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I know it's old news...but I wanted to say it, and this is my journal, so...suck it. Just kidding. But do suck if you feel the desire to...I have toothpaste available - in a wide variety of flavors - for those of you with particular palates *hint hint*... (Oh, Timmy...wait, stop, stop!...)

Now that we got past that stuff....

Hung with Nix last night. Watched Pumpkinhead. Awesome flick. Andy came by for a bit, too...I'm in the process of pirating a crapload of movies from his collection. Oh yes, that's all we need, right?...more movies! But hey, they ARE free...well, save for the cost of the DVD recordables. (Shut up.)

The Dark Tower has completely sucked me in. It's getting good. Oh so fucking good.

Heather's loving her school year so far. I'm so excited and happy for her...I love it when the people around me succeed and prosper, it just makes me feel good about life. I'm not kidding about that either.

I've never really done a free-thought blog entry before this, have I? I don't believe I have. Let me know what you all think...

Friday the 13th Fright Film Fest!

Three things:

Heather has updated her blog, a rare occurrence. Check it out. (Love you, baby!)

Next Friday happens to be Friday the 13th. To celebrate, Heather and I are hosting a Friday the 13th movie party! It will be that Friday, January 13th, 2006 (thank you Heather for the heads up on the correction), at 7:00 PM. Movies should start shortly after, latest at 8. There will be some food and drinks, but bring something anyway (beer, chips, etc.). There might even be a drinking game involved. Should be lots of fun for all who attend...

Hear about the suicide bombings in Iraq? Yeah...no amount of grand-standing on our part is going to put a stop to that kind of stuff no matter how "secure" or "self-reliant" we make that country. What we've ultimately done is remove a terrible regime that kept that kind of stuff more-or-less in check; now, we're left with a country that is most likely never going to be free of terrorist attacks, and has, in fact, been made a focus for them since we got there.

Anyway, enough for today. Being sick blows. Stupid sinuses...

Well, needless to say, Christmas was both good and crazy this year. New Year’s was another story, one I shant tell here. Trust me, it’s best left unsaid for once.

Anyway, Heather and I went out today and got a new bookshelf and a new storage cabinet for the apartment. Now we have enough space to last until…dun dun dun!...we finally get a house next year. The only down side coming off the holiday season is that I’m not feeling too well right now. Allergies mixed with what I think is a head-cold. Ah well, plenty of liquids and some rest and I’ll be right as rain in no time. (By the by, does anyone happen to know exactly where and why that phrase came to be? Enlighten me, please…)

Now I must go enjoy some more of the exploits of Roland and his ka-tet from Dark Tower VII. Catch you later, my Quillmaniacs!
