2006 World Champions:

THE SAINT LOUIS CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!

WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, October 22, 2006

Hey, hey, hey...I'm guilty

Ya try to defend, and get shit upon. Ah well...at least what I'm called is largely a matter of opinion and not fact like with some others. We are who we choose to be.

One week left until Gravity Kills. Nice. Then, the party. Then, a mere week later, the postponed trip to KC and another Halloween party. Double nice.

The Crow is a beautiful movie...

Things are going...

...well. :)

I'm on my way to being an Associate Estimator of the ASPE. My costume for Halloween is nearing completion (and looks very kick ass so far, if I do say so; thankee sai). I'm currently reading Stephen King's "Insomnia", and I like it so far.

Heather is going into surgery on Tuesday for her heel, which has been hurting due to heel-spurs for over two years now. This will permanently solve that problem. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, if you would please.

Other than that, not much going on. Seems we'll be more than ready to get that house next year by mid-summer. Yes!

No Title

CPE certification is going to be involved to a high degree...plus I'm not even elligible until I have five years experience. So, in the meantime, I will build on that and then worry about it.

Ever feel like you have worlds of things to say and then you can't say anything? Ugh.

I worked as a Jr. Estimator on a project that bids tomorrow for Volk; I got to use Timberline Estimating software, and actually did a good job at it. Even caught my mistakes and fixed them. And I'm being billed as the Project Engineer/Estimator a little bit already. I love it. Now let's get busy!

ASPE

The American Society for Professional Estimators. I am on my way to joining their fold, and should be an Associate Estimator very soon. And I'm also going to go for the certification that will make me a CPE - Certified Professional Estimator. I like that, a lot.

Things are coming along... :)

Gurfle.

You can speculate all you like about the reasons for my shifting around as of late, but it ends there, because I have proof positive that those speculations are false.

Think what you like. :)

Eyes on the prize.

Well, due to some family stuff going on and the resulting stress of that plus assimilating to the new job, I didn't go to K-City this weekend to visit Tom and Anna. It has been rescheduled for Nov. 4th.

The new job is cool. It's not what I had before, but it's different in many positive ways. The only negative is that I'm not titled as an Estimator, which I really wanted - but that's the only downside. I'm learning several new things, and I'm still going to be able to "do" estimating, and everyone knows I want to be an estimator, so all is going according to plan. Just have to focus on the here and now and not lose sight of the overall goal - Estimator. I love this company and the job, though...I'm so happy and relieved that I found this position, I was worried there for some time.

I'm also joining the ASPE (American Society of Professional Estimators). Just another level of prestige that I can add to my resume, plus it will really help down the line with networking and displaying my passion and seriousness of being an Estimator. :)

Not much else is going on. The GK show is coming up as well as Scott's party. Other than that, just living and loving life. :)

I'm nervous.

That's okay. I'm also very excited. Wish me luck!

Sunday is fun-day. Or something.

Well, tomorrow is the big first day of my new job. I'm excited. I will definitely keep all of you updated on how much I like it and how things are going in the coming months.

Today is Heather's birthday. Happy birthday, baby! I love you.

Tomorrow is also Beaver's big first day at his new job. I wish him the best of luck, and hope that he likes it.

Not much else to report. Lots of stuff coming up, parties, concert, etc.
