The 48 Hour Film Project
The short of it is this:
There's this annual film project competition held in various cities around the U.S., and St. Louis is one of them. Teams draw a film genre at random, and all teams are assigned film elements - a prop, a character to be shown and named, and a line of dialogue - that must be incorporated into the movie. Each team has 48 hours, this year from June 8th at 7:00 pm to June 10th at 7:00 pm to script, rehearse, film, score, edit, and deliver their opus film.
All films submitted on time are eligible to win best in the city, can win several possible "award" categories, and will be screened to an audience at the Tivoli on the Loop.
And Scott and I are leading the charge for Bug-Juice Productions...we are officially entered into the competition.
Boo-yah! Stay tuned as events develop...it's going to be a wild, sleepless 48-hour ride...but we can and will do this, and win or not, we will make something awesome!
P.S. This film will NOT be done the same way as our current stock of shorts. We will be scripting, rehearsing, working with filming tricks, camera work, equipment, etc. Our other shorts are improved and hit-or-miss comedy skits...this will be more stylistically done no matter what genre we get.
This is a personal goal for me...to make something very different that other people will appreciate and we can showcase. It would greatly help Meatloaf if that happened; as well as any other short films we do.
